NSW Single Use Plastics Ban

NSW is banning some single-use plastics from 1 November 2022

From 1 June 2022, the supply of lightweight plastic shopping bags with handles was banned.

From 1 November 2022, the supply of further single-use plastic items is banned including:

  • Single-use plastic straws, stirrers and cutlery
  • Single-use plastic plates and unlidded bowls
  • Expanded polystyrene foodware

Plastic cotton buds and microbeads in rinse-off personal care products are also banned.

This ban does NOT apply to other bags, cups or containers, however these are being considered for future action.

Thank you for your support while our Clemton Park Shopping Village retailers make positive changes.
